PORTAFOLIO

What is assessment??
Well assessment is a process of collecting information about our student’s knowledge. It is conducted to improve educational programs and it’s an effective way to demonstrate that the program works. It is focused on students learning and developments outcomes.
What is teaching?
Teaching is the range of professional duties that are in charge of a teacher, he must know that the knowledge that is being transfer gets to the students in the most efficient way.
Informal assessment
Informal assessment is the part of assessment that does not include written tests; instead, it collects information about students’ performance during normal every day lessons. This information can be collected by observation, checklists, band scales, portfolios, etc. Not only linguistic factors like reading, listening, fluency, intonation, etc. can be assessed informally, but also non linguistic factors like attitude, group work, project work, homework, participation, and so on. It is important that assessment criteria are clear and that the teacher is objective, so that the resulting information is reliable.
Assessment Plan
An assessment plan contains the details of how you will work through the steps of the assessment cycle for one or two-learning outcomes. As you read through the description below of what is typically included in an assessment plan you might discover that you have already completed some of the work described. If you find this, then be sure you have a record of what you’ve already accomplished and develop your plan accordingly.

Reflection
As we know, informal assessment is a way of collecting information about our student’s performance in a normal classroom condition and it’s done without establishing tests conditions such as in the case of formal assessment. Sometimes this is referred to a continuous assessment as it is done with various activities over a period of time to really know if they have learned it is well comprehended.  If not, means that something is wrong with the teacher’s methods and must be changed for the good of the students.
Personally, I would apply constant exercises without grade, to relieve the pressure of a so call “test” for them to complete them in a more relaxed way and not afraid of asking for doubts or questions.
